HINDUISM AND THE FOUR PATHS TO ENLIGHTENMENT

Hinduism is all about becoming one with Brahman (God). Through this process we shed selfish acts and practice devotion to God. Hindus rely on their personality to figure out which path is best for them to be with God. Although there are different paths, they all lead to God. Of course, no one is strictly of one path but most people tend to lean toward one of them more than the others. Read the following paths to decide how to guide your life's journey.

Juana Yoga: Reflective
Characteristics: a thinker, scholarly, importance in knowledge
How it Works: extensively study on God, reflect the significance of explorations, then use it to identify with God.

Bhakti Yoga: Emotional
Characteristics: feelings over reason, passionate, importance in relationships
How it Works: remove selfishness, use prayers of praise and worship, love God to the fullest

Karma Yoga: Active
Characteristics: goal oriented, go-getter, importance in work
How it Works: work for God's sake instead of own if more emotional or work detached from the ego if more reflective

Raja Yoga: Experimental
Characteristics: scientific bent, creative, importance in psychological exercises
How it Works: practice series of mental exercises also known as meditation, learn to keep the body from distracting the mind and go inwards to find God
